If that image above isn’t heavy enough..
What you are about to see is bloody terrifying. Not sure if you have ever heard about the Star Wars Holiday Special but it is a bloody train wreck. It really hurts the brain. If you are a fan of Star Wars be prepared to vomit. This really is something that can firmly go into the denial bag and for it to be burt with leaded petrol, gather the ashes, put it in a lead anvil and send to the bottom of the ocean. Down right horrifying.
When did it happen?
The special was broadcast in its entirety only once, in the United States, on Friday, November 17, 1978 . It was also broadcast in here is Australia and New Zealand on Seven.
How did it happen
Apparently is was Lucas’s idea to build the narrative around a family of speechless Wookiees and their celebration of Life Day. Nice one George. Post production George said “If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every copy of that show and smash it.” It’s pretty hard to hide things on the bloody internet. Life ahh finds a way Goldblum
How was it received? Not too bloody well
Some bloke called David Hofstede reckons it “the worst two hours of television ever.”
Some other bloke Shepard Smith, Fox News Channel, referred to it as a “’70s train wreck, combining the worst of Star Wars with the utter worst of variety television.
SPOILER ALERT. SERIOUS MESSAGE: “DEAR STAR WARS FAN, DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR DAY TODAY”
